Your First Visit

Your Examination

  • Your examination will begin with the chiropractor taking your case history, performing a physical and chiropractic examination, and possibly ordering laboratory analyses or X-rays, if determined necessary.
  • If the chiropractor believes you could benefit from a more specialized examination, you will be referred to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  • Typically the first visit should last about 45-60 minutes, depending on the patient's condition.

Your Adjustment

  • If there are no red flags, conditions requiring further imaging or diagnosis,  during the examination the doctor will proceed to the adjustment. The doctor will educate the patient on the findings of the physical exam and explain how chiropractic could be beneficial to them. The adjustment program will be tailored to best suit each patient's needs.
  • According to the patient's condition, he or she may also receive electrode therapy or ultrasound treatments to assist in reducing pain.

Your Second Visit

  • On your second visit, the doctor will provide you with a Report of Findings from the initial physical examination, as well as a treatment plan and exercises the patient can perform at home.
  • Follow up visits typically average about 15 minutes per visit.
